I never get enough of discovering new places, so this time it was time to visit the centre of Spain, three amazing cities full of history, culture and beauty: Toledo, Salamanca and Segovia.

Just like the trip to Morocco, this trip also started really early, like 04:30 in the morning. So with my sleepy happy mood we went with the bus to our first stop Toledo. Before we entered the city we went to a point where we had such an amazing view of the whole city, surrounded by a beautiful landscape. After we captured this amazing view it was time to enter the city. With our own personal guide, who told us about the history of the city, we stopped almost every 100 meters, because it’s full of history of the three cultures who had lived here together. When the tour ended we had some time left to eat and discover the city on our own behalf, so with some people we ate something and afterwards we visited the impressive cathedral, which is one of the biggest of Spain.

Our next stop was Salamanca, so after our free time we headed to this typical studentcity. On our way we had one little stop to stretch our legs a bit (the bus was very small and not that comfy, not even for small persons like me haha) and watch the nice view of the city Ávila, which was really pretty with the sunset that illuminated Ávila. The sunset is really beautiful here in Spain, which will never get bored and which I can watch for ever. So finally after three hours we arrived in our hostel in Salamanca. We had some time to freshen ourselves up and relax a bit before we went to the centre to have some dinner and to go party. First we went to a bar where we could get beer and sangria for just 50 cents, yes you read it, 50 cents! So really nice and cheap haha! Eventually we went out with a small group, but all such nice people. It looks like people that I don’t like doesn’t exist here in Granada, everyone is so nice!

The next day it was time to see something of the city, starting with a guide. The stories that the guide was telling were also really interesting, only she really liked to rush, so it was more a race against the clock than that we could enjoy the views, take some pictures etc. Luckily we had the whole afternoon free time, so we could go back to the places on our own speed, so more relaxed, like the Spaniards here in Andalusia (why rushing, mañana mañana). We climbed the tower of the old cathedral, a lot of stairs, but at the end it was worth it with a lovely view of the cathedral and the city, I think one of the best parts of Salamanca. Because the weather was really, really good, like in summerdress-good, we decided to buy a bocadillo de jamón ibérico (also known as foodporn) and eat it at plaza mayor. Plaza mayor is also a really nice place, unfortunately there was a kind of bookfair, so that ruined the amazing sight, but besides that it was still beautiful with the clear blue sky that made it even better.

Because that day was my mother’s birthday, I decided to call here via facetime to wish here the best and have a little talk with all the family who were there, which was really nice to see and to hear everyone again after two months J.

The day consisted of foodporn, so after the nice bocadillo de jamón ibérico, it was time for churros con chocolate, which is also really delicious. And after churros it was time to have some typical Spanish pinchos (comparable con tapas but then with bread and smaller). There was so many choice, that I had no idea what to take, so I let me get surprised, and it was really good, Spanish food almost just can’t be bad, I love it!

The second and also last night, we went out again, but this time to other places. Unfortunately the beer and wine weren’t 50 cents, but we had some drinks before so that was okay. The last night was also a really successful evening.

After three hours of sleep it was time to visit Segovia, our last stop. The first thing we saw when we arrived was the enormous aqueduct, with 167 arches, that separated the old part from the new part of the city which was very impressive. From here on we started our walk to the alcazar of Segovia, the inspiration of the castle of Snow-white, through the old city and had a little stop at plaza mayor, where we entered the cathedral. It was very busy and lively in the city with a lot of musicians who created a good vibe in the city. There was also a woman who played a marionette who was playing ‘All of me’ on the violin, it was really magical, also because everyone was singing along with her play. After we visited the cathedral and enjoyed the live music, we went to the castle of Segovia, which is situated in a valley, so also here the view was amazing. (I know it’s getting bored with all the amazing views and the amazing weather haha). We wandered a bit around in the castle, enjoying the view, take some pictures, have fun with the people who also joined the trip, etc.

Everything comes to an end, so, it was time to go back home again to Granada, because the next day it was just another day at the university. This was also a trip that I didn’t want to miss and I’ve enjoyed every single bit of it. It’s definitely a must see if you love Spain and want to discover the country.
